Sandy (Ison) Ballard
At the age of 3, she started dancing. She started in Utah then we moved to Dallas Texas. She continued dancing ballet, tap, and jazz for many years. She made it into the Texas Girls Choir, Inc for 4 years and performed in the Bass Hall in Fort Worth, Texas.When she was 13 she made it onto a prestigious dance team. She was the youngest to make it on the team.
She then moved to Snowflake at the age of 14 she started Pointe ballet, hip-hop, lyrical and continued with ballet and jazz at the Show Low Dance Academy. She was also a Snowflake High Varsity cheerleader for 2 years. They won 3rd place at both State Championships. At 16 she started teaching beginners ballet, tap, jazz classes.
Once she graduated she moved to Fort Worth Texas where she worked for 5 years at The Fort Worth Dance Center. She was trained in the Fred Astaire Stepping Up Program. She taught Ballroom (Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Foxtrot), Latin (Mambo, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Merengue) Swing (East Coast, West Coast, Lindy Hop, Jive) and Country (2 Step, 3 Step, Shuffle, Country Swing, Country Waltz). Competed in Latin Dance and performed at public events.
Then moved back to Snowflake. Certified in Zumba Fitness in 2010 and has been teaching ever since. Started with Canyon Creek Performing Arts in 2012 teaching Cheer, Jazz, Tumbling, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap and Theater Choreograph.
Bought Canyon Creek Performing Arts in 2015 where she started Broadway theater classes. She has Produced, Directed, and Choreographed for the last 5 years with cast of children from the ages 4-18.
She loves working with children and watching the growth that happens in their abilities as well as their confidence.
